General healing period takes around 5-10 days for all redness and swelling to subside. However, as soon as your surgery is finished you are able to go about your daily business as usual and have a bite to eat. There is no down-time, other than if you wish to take time off work yourself.
Patients mistake the transplanted hair falling out as a sign that the surgery didn't work - This is wrong. It's normal for the grafts to fall out two to three weeks after surgery. This then makes way for new hair growth up to 8 to 12 months post-surgery.
