What Causes: Teeth Grinding (Bruxism)

There are multiple reasons as to why you might be grinding your teeth. They include -

  • Sleep paralysis
  • Sleep apnoea
  • Snoring
  • Stress and/or anxiety
  • As a side effect of specific medications
  • Due to drug taking
  • Drinking too much alcohol and/or caffeine
  • Smoking too much

Teeth grinding can also be a problem in childhood and adolescence, however once all adult teeth emerge, this should usually stop.
