The Sapphire Hair Transplant Technique

Being a highly effective and minimally invasive surgical procedure, this method utilises the use of a new medical device to provide the best FUE results.
This is a special process used to grab follicles to relocate to an area of hair loss. The sapphire FUE hair transplant uses a V-shaped sapphire; blade as opposed to the original U shaped blade, allowing the opening of V-shaped canals across the scalp resulting in smaller incisions and leaving less tissue damage to the skin.

The channels of the hair follicles can be set much finer with this method, with less bleeding and less scabbing occurring. After collecting and properly storing the grafts, our surgeon then prepares the transplant area intending to artistically place the grafts in ways that will look and feel natural. One advantage to utilising the FUE method is that it leaves minimal scars and does not leave noticeable linear scars as the FUT technique does.

Is this treatment right for my type of male hair loss?
A hair transplant might not be right for your type of male hair loss, therefore, that’s why we offer other non-surgical hair loss treatments which can in some cases work better. For example, you might only have mild hair thinning and need Laser Hair Re-growth treatment. How long after treatment can I start to style my hair again?
Yes, this hair restoration procedure is invasive, offering you natural looking denser hair. It involves removing hair follicles from a donor area and grafting them onto the bald or thinning area.
You can tie your hair up straight away. Heat products like straighteners, hair dryers and curlers are 2 weeks after surgery. Hair spray can’t be used for 4 weeks after treatment as it can block the pores and cause ingrown hairs. What do I need to do post-surgery?
At Este Medical Group, we are passionate about giving you the best treatment you can get – Which extends past the initial treatment into high-quality, ongoing aftercare.
This includes washing by our team of specialists after your hair transplant to avoid any chance of infection or of the hair follicles falling out, as well as using Laser Hair Growth treatment for one-month post-transplant to stimulate the rapid growth of your new and existing hair. How long will I start to see my hair grow back?
It will take 6-12 months to be able to see the hairs grow thick. We can’t guess how long it takes for your hair to match your current hair as it depends on how long that is and how quickly your hair grows. We can discuss this further during your consultation at your nearest UK clinic.
Do I need to take time off work?
You’ll be able to return to work in 2-5 days after the operation and within 2 to 3 weeks after surgery, the transplanted hair follicles will fall out. Then you should notice new hair growth within a few months – which last forever!
General healing period takes around 5-10 days for all redness and swelling to subside. It is up to you whether you want to take more time off work.
Are there any side-effects?
Common, temporary side effects of a hair transplant are a tight, achy, swollen scalp and scabbing around the transplanted hairs. There’s also a small risk of bleeding on the scalp, infection, or an allergic reaction to the anaesthetic.
How much does a male hair transplant cost?
