What is a Breast Lift?
Mastopexy, more commonly known as Breast Lifting surgery, can re-size your breasts as well as lift and re-shape them. How Does it Work?
- Your surgeon will make both vertical and horizontal incisions around your areola – this is the dark area around the nipple
- Depending on your breast size, another type of incision may be used which would have been discussed prior to consent for surgery
- Excess skin will then be removed and your breast tissue will be re-shaped
- Your nipple will also be re-positioned higher
- Finally the incision is closed with sutures. Whether we use dissolvable or non-dissolvable sutures will be discussed prior to surgery consent

Will the incision leave scars?
As the skin heals, the incision lines will fade to a light colour. They will not be visible when wearing lingerie or bikinis, for example.

What are the risks?
