Liposuction is a surgical body contouring treatment that will get rid of unwanted body fat from the tummy, buttocks, thighs, hips, or arms that is proving problematic to shift through traditional exercise and diet.
Este Medical Guide To Liposuction
To help you find out if liposuction is the right choice for you, we have gathered together everything you should know about this popular body contouring procedure. Este Medical offers liposuction in Turkey for all genders, as well as other sculpting and contouring treatments for the face and body.
How Does Liposuction Work?
Surgical liposuction targets troublesome pockets of fat, usually in the stomach area and other areas of the lower body (e.g., hips, bottom, thighs). It can also be used to remove fat from the chin, neck, and arms. Liposuction is one of the best surgical treatments to slim down and reshape the body.
During a standard liposuction procedure, a surgeon will target stored fat under the skin (i.e., adipocytes fat cells); the aim is to suck out small deposits of fat with a small surgical tube that is inserted through tiny incisions in the treatment area. When the tube is beneath the skin’s surface it sucks fat deposits out of the treatment area.
At our Este Medical clinic in Turkey we use VASER Ultrasonic liposuction and liposculpture. This ultrasound-assisted liposuction treatment can be performed under general anaesthesia, and both of these treatments are considered a safer alternative to traditional liposuction.
Is Liposuction Painful & Does Liposuction Leave Scars?
With liposuction treatments you will be under general anaesthesia for the surgical procedure. Because of general anaesthesia you should not feel any pain during the procedure.
After a liposuction treatment you may experience some common side effects that are considered normal for the procedure. For instance, the treatment area might have some swelling, soreness, and numbness after liposuction. The level of discomfort will vary from person to person, and will also depend on the size of the treatment area.
Most people describe the after effects of lipo as feeling like a big bruise in the treatment area. As we know, bruises can hurt a little, and this sensation may be uncomfortable for some people. When you have your liposuction surgery your surgeon will discuss post-op pain management options with you.
Liposuction scars are not common, but there is always a small risk that the small surgical incision will leave a mark. During liposuction surgery the surgeon needs to create small incisions in the skin’s surface to do the procedure.
In most cases any marks or scars from liposuction tend to clear up within 6 to 12 months. Over time any lipo marks will fade and blend into the surrounding skin tissue. They should not be noticeable within a few months of surgery.
Contact Este Medical Group to discuss your concerns and expectations about liposuction. During an Este liposuction consultation we can address all of your questions.
Does Liposuction Work & Is Liposuction Permanent?
Liposuction surgery is permanent; it permanently removes fat deposits from your lower abdomen, buttocks, or upper arms for instance.
If you gain weight after liposuction, it shouldn’t return excessively to the area where you had lipo surgery. However, after liposuction surgery we do recommend you work to maintain a healthy body weight and aim to control weight fluctuations.
In most cases, people who have liposuction find the results are long lasting, provided a stable weight is maintained and a fitness routine is regular.
Is Liposuction Dangerous?
With any invasive surgery and the use of anaesthesia there is some risk. However lipo surgery is considered a safe procedure.
Here are some factors that can affect the outcome of liposuction. If you have poor skin elasticity you may experience more skin swelling or uneven results.
As well if the liposuction is not done properly it can result in slow-healing incisions. There is also the small risk of fluid build-up (seroma), which is often associated with surgical procedures.
Liposuction is not a dangerous procedure if done by qualified and experienced surgeons at a reputable medical clinic. At Este Medical, we have highly skilled surgeons and a 5-star reputation!
We know that surgery can be a little unsettling, our Este Medical team will be there with you every step of the way. When you read our online reviews, this is something that will stand out; Este Medical professionals are regarded as the most caring and supportive!
What Is Laser Liposuction?
Laser lipolysis is also a cosmetic fat-reduction treatment that is similar to traditional lipo surgery.
With laser liposuction a small incision is made into the treatment area (e.g., tummy) and a laser device is inserted under the skin to liquify fat deposits that are then sucked away using a small surgical tube (cannula). Like with traditional liposuction there may be some swelling and bruising post-surgery.
With laser liposuction surgery you will see results immediately, especially when skin swelling goes down. Within just six months you should see the final outcome and benefits from the procedure.
How Is Liposuction Different From Tummy Tuck?
In general, liposuction is less invasive than a tummy tuck (abdominoplasty) surgery, and with lipo there is less downtime and the recovery is often said to be much easier.
During tummy tuck surgery excess skin is removed to improve the look of the tummy area, this doesn’t happen with liposuction. As well, a tummy tuck will surgically tighten the necessary abdominal muscles, also something that liposuction doesn’t address. Liposuction is strictly about ‘sucking’ fat out from underneath the skin.
If you have unwanted tummy fat along with loose skin in the tummy area, then combining these two treatments is possible. Most people can combine a liposuction and a tummy tuck procedure.
Este Medical Group offers both liposuction and tummy tuck procedures, and we would be able to combine these treatments at our Este Medical clinic in Istanbul, Turkey. Book a tummy tuck and liposuction consultation to find out if you are a suitable candidate for this fat and skin reduction treatment.
Does liposuction get rid of cellulite? This treatment is not recommended for getting rid of cellulite. We do have Este Medical treatments to reduce and improve the look of cellulite. Be sure to ask about them in your body contouring consultation, or visit our menu of Este cellulite treatments.
Is Arm Liposuction Worth It?
Yes, arm liposuction is worth it if you are hiding your arms in baggy sweaters, or avoiding the gym because you don’t want to show your arms. ‘Bat wings’ and flabby arms are not something people want to display, but if diet and exercise are not helping to tone your upper arms then you should consider upper arm liposuction.
If you are struggling with excess fat and poor muscle tone in the upper arms, or noticing the skin becoming flabby, then book an Este liposuction consultation to see how we can help. Having liposuction to your arms is worth it if you want to feel better about yourself and boost your self-confidence!
