What's the Process for a Hair Transplant at Este?

If you're interested in finding out more about our hair transplant in Turkey, the first step to take is to book in a consultation at your nearest Este Medical Group clinic. We have clinics around the UK, as well as worldwide.

Then, we'll assess your hair loss, the causes and symptoms, and expectations that you have for your hair regrowth. At this stage, we will undergo a hair analysis using a specialist camera to assess the extent of your hair loss and confirm if a hair transplant is the right treatment for you.

After we have confirmed and booked in your surgery at our Istanbul clinic, we'll book you in for several sessions of laser hair regrowth therapy at your nearest clinic to stimulate and prepare for your scalp.

When it is time for your hair transplant in Turkey, all travel and accommodation will be arranged with you to ensure you are happy and prepared for your journey.

Once you arrive in Istanbul, Turkey, you will be greeted by our friendly team who speak English and are happy to help and resolve any worries.

On the day of surgery, we'll make sure you are comfortable and ready for the procedure. First, we will extract the hair grafts from a suitable area ready for your hair transplant later on in the day. During hair transplantation, you will be awake whilst our highly experienced surgeons insert each hair follicle into your scalp, beard or eyebrows.

Straight after your hair transplant is finished you will be able to go about your daily business as normal. Many of our patients enjoy having a wonder around Istanbul or having a bite to eat inside the local restaurants.

After our surgeons have had a once over and are happy with the results, you'll fly back and receive aftercare at your nearest UK clinic. This on-going aftercare includes specialist hair washing, maintenance, laser hair regrowth therapy and other help depending on your situation.

Is FUE Hair Transplant Permanent?

Yes, this hair restoration procedure is invasive, offering you natural looking denser hair. It involves removing hair follicles from a donor area and grafting them onto the bald or thinning area. This treatment requires no stitches and recovery time is short as you will be noticing your hair growing in no time!

Your hair around the transplant may continue to fall out as you grow older, however, this will be the surrounding hair and not the transplanted hair. We will continue to work with you in maintaining your hair which might mean you'll require laser hair therapy sessions on-going.

How Long Does It Take to Recover from a Hair Transplant?

General healing period takes around 5-10 days for all redness and swelling to subside. However, as soon as your surgery is finished you are able to go about your daily business as usual and have a bite to eat. There is no down-time, other than if you wish to take time off work yourself.

What Are the Side-Effects of FUE Hair Transplant?

Bleeding - however, this is normal and maintained

Infection - if aftercare advise is not done properly

Swelling of the scalp - this is normal and will go down after a few days

Bruising - this is normal and will disappear after a few days

Will My Transplanted Hair Fall Out?

Patients mistake the transplanted hair falling out as a sign that the surgery didn't work - This is wrong. It's normal for the grafts to fall out two to three weeks after surgery. This then makes way for new hair growth up to 8 to 12 months post-surgery.

What Aftercare Do I Need After My Hair Transplant?

Your hair must be professionally washed to monitor your condition.

It is crucial that you avoid contact with your new grafts until day 6.

To reduce swelling, sleep at a 45-degree angle for the first three days after surgery.

How Do I Get To My Appointment?

Members of our team will arrange to pick you up from the airport to your hotel, as well as taking you to your treatments and appointments.
